Even though Norway often is regarded as a leader in gender equality, the country still has an extremely gender-divided labour market. Systematic differences between men and women exist: Women work in the public sector to a greater extent, and hold managerial positions to a lesser extent than men. The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (Landsorganisasjonen i Norge or LO) is the largest national trade union center in Norway.

Right to holiday and leave payments
According to the “Annual Holiday Act”, employees are entitled to 25 working days holiday each year. Persons over the age of 60 are entitled to one week extra.
